Hi there - I'm Julie! I originally grew up in Essex and Suffolk and after many years away (in Brighton and Australia) I returned to my roots eleven years ago to raise my family, and must admit I feel very blessed to live here in Woodbridge. I grew up with animals - a white cat called George who was a wedding present to my parents, a rescue rabbit called Bubbles, several goldfish, a few hamsters, a tortoise, and two rescue cats Polly and Dolly. On my travels I helped a few stray cats along the way, giving them all a loving home.
Here in Woodbridge, I live with my husband, two children, Cody the shih tzu, Sirrus our rescue cat and various fish in our pond. I believe a pet is a serious commitment and for all the love they give us, they deserve the best life possible
When I first left Suffolk I worked as a volunteer carer in London, and funnily enough one of my duties was to walk the dog. A beautiful rescue dog called Beth I used to take on walks from Camden lock, along by the canal to Regents Park.
I then went on to qualify in Nursing and specialized in Psychiatric Nursing and went on to work with people with learning disabilities. I was Deputy Manager for a lovely NHS home in Brighton for about 6 years. Then I went back to University and obtained a Bsc(hons) and academic prize in Podiatry. Shortly after I emmigrated to Australia, and worked for the Disability Services Comission of Western Australia for four years.
On returning to the UK I worked for Oxfam and more recently spent 5 years working on mobile health units undertaking NHS healths. I have also volunteered locally for charities, wildlife and schools.
I have always had pets in my life so as well as personal experience, I have a years professional practical experience looking after a wide variety of pets. I also have a City and Guilds in Dog Walking, an ABC Diploma in Pet Sitting and Dog Walking plus an Advanced Pet First Aid Certificate. I am insured for Pet Sitting and have DBS clearance and a clean drivers licence.
I can offer you a kind, friendly, trustworthy, reliable service where I will do my utmost to meet you and your pets needs. I want to do things your way - so your home routine stays as close to normal as possible to help your pet stay comfortable in its home environment. I have a very fussy pet myself - so really, nothing is too much trouble!
Having been a cat owner for most of my life, I adore spending time with cats, so if you need a cat sitter in Woodbridge please get in touch. I can make home visits once or twice a day, usually morning and early evening.
Please get in touch with House and Pets in Woodbridge if you think I can help you and we can have an initial chat and consultation free of charge.
